Snowing Waterlilies at Lion House

by Rich Beilfuss

We were treated to an extraordinary flowering display of beautiful white waterlilies today on the floodplain near lion house.  These waterlilies emerged within the last 3 days – we didn’t see any on Monday—and cover the floodplain like snow.

The water depth at lion house is still 1 meter, and the maximum flood height in December was nearly 2 meters.  Hard to believe we were driving across this floodplain in December!
