Some members of the Gorongosa Tourism Team decided to check the mountain trails and also to test their fitness by doing an expedition to Gogogo, the summit of Gorongosa Mountain (as you all know Gogogo was the name we choose for the Park newsletter !).
After a 6 hour hike from the base camp at Nhancuco (located about 600 m above sea level) we arrived to Gogogo, which rises to a towering height of 1.863 m. It was a little bit painful for the ones less fit but very rewarding when you consider the fabulous landscape and the emotions felt by the magic of seeing the sunrise from the top of the mountain!
The next day the return took only 4 hours (indeed it was a little bit faster but also quite slippery) and we also visited the amazing Murombodzi Falls!
Let's see some of the moments of our expedition.
