Samatenje, the spiritual leader of Gorongosa Mountain, flew over Gorongosa Mountain last week and was deeply impressed by the extent of its deforestation. He has pledged his support to help stop this devastation. The 26 year-old leader, who has 5 wives and speaks several european and local languages, is widely respected by local communities. This was his first visit to Gorongosa National Park.
